A fine example of a classical Cameroon 'ngoin' helmet dance mask of oval form with bulbous facial features. Representing a noble woman, probably Bamenda Highlands, with carved teeth in the broad open mouth, broad nose, large outlined eyes, bulging cheeks, large projecting ears, traces of red/orange pigment, varied brown patina, encrusted in some parts, truncated, rounded nape of the neck and an almond-shaped perforation on the crown. On MDF / metal base.
