This figure belongs to the type of the "ordinary bateba phuwe" figures, who should protect humans against witches and sorcerers, should help finding a partner for marriage and should prevent illness and infertility.

This female is showing square schematized forms, a bulging belly with accentuated navel, protruding buttocks, long arms worked close to the body, the hands resting on the upper part of the strong legs and an oval heads with accentuated eyes and a protruding mouth.

Wood, spotty, partly shiny dark brown patina, traces of insect caused damage, cracks, wear and use, on MDF base.
