Heddle pulley, Senufo, Ivory Coast.

Heddle pulley with u-shaped corpus, incised scarifications and stylized head of a hornbill. The finely carved pulleys of masks, heads and figures were intended to protect the weaver and help him to guide his cotton thread to produce fine cloth.
