Huge Kuba cloth made from woven strips of raffia from the kuba people in the Congo.

This table runner measures about 5 meters by 0.75 meters and is made from a number of sections stitched together. The geometric patterns are cut and sewn onto a base cloth which is made from thin strands cut from the leaves of the raffia palm. The enormous variety of designs together with the specific handwork style of different crafters, make each cloth section unique and as varied as the imaginations of the crafters. It is quite impossible to find a duplicate cloth.

Condition: minor raffia loss, stains and a little wear. But above all a beautiful decorative piece which is very suitable for wall hanging instead of wallpaper or painting.
