Small amulet figures "hampatong", Dayak, Borneo, Indonesia.
These are three fine Dayak amulet figures carved by the same artist, rising from a small base with the arms worked close to the body, both hands resting on the chest, surmounted by an oval head with simplified facial features, two wearing a headgear. Such statuettes were made by the medicine man to ward off diseases.
Wood, partly blackened, shiny patina, min. dam., cracks, on MDF base.
