Kurabit Warrior’s Shield, Mentawai Islands, Indonesia.

Wood with natural pigment color, spiral motifs on both sides, good condition to age, a nice patina on the handle and the over all shield has good patina from age and use. According information from the "Tropenmuseum" in Amsterdam it's possible that the shape of the shield symbolizes the contour of a crocodile.

It measures 110 cm / 43.3 inches long. On the backside is written in pencil (in Dutch):
